EMFs, Feng Shui, and Your Health

You Own Your Health Journey

From the way you view your well-being and your life, to how you clean your home, to how you manage your Feng Shui, every moment and thought is either taking you toward or away from toxicity and dis-ease.

Practitioners of traditional Chinese Medicine believe that to feel good, you must be surrounded by good Qi or energy. This is why, in ancient China, the Chinese Medicine practitioner would come to the patient’s house to inspect it. They would be looking to see how the environment was either supporting or hindering someone’s health. Is the environment too damp? Too windy? Located on the wrong side of a hill and not getting enough sunshine? This is a holistic approach to addressing health issues. When our bodies are experiencing stagnant or blocked Qi, we can experience fatigue or, if over an extended period of time, are more prone to develop major health problems. With Feng Shui, the goal is to protect against negative energies and welcome vibrant life-generating Qi that brings health and longevity.

In our modern world, we must consider the influences of technology in our environment and on our health. Do we properly give it the attention it deserves?

Westerners have largely thrived on invention, production, consumerism at the expense of disrupting the natural harmony and balance in the world. While the technological revolution has been beneficial in many ways, it has also caused trauma in our environment and our health. We would do well to remember that people—as well as spaces—need nurturing, supportive Qi to feel good and perform well. What Feng Shui practitioners often miss today is the fact that we now have important factors that impede the flow of natural  energy which did not exist in ancient China.

Our exposure to man-made electromagnetic fields (EMFs) has been steadily increasing as growing electricity demand, ever-advancing technologies, and changes in social behavior have created more and more artificial sources.

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences describes EMFs as invisible areas of energy often referred to as radiation, that is associated with the use of electrical power and various forms of natural and man-made lighting…Low-frequency magnetic fields generate circulating currents within the human body. The World Health Organization (WHO) notes that both low-frequency and high-frequency electromagnetic waves affect the human body in different ways.

The dangers of EMF exposure are officially well-known. Just a quick search brings back more than 700,000 articles, books, and videos on the dangers of electromagnetic fields.

It’s important to understand that some of this Feng Shui cannot ‘cure’. The simple truth is that certain levels of EMFs can trigger biological effects. Most of us are used to the electronic conveniences of modern life. But few of us are aware of the possible health risks presented by the gadgets that make our world work. It might be surprising to learn just how varied magnetic field levels are around products.

The actions you can take to reduce your EMF exposure depend on you. The best approach is to be aware that EMFs exist, be an informed consumer, and be smart about your exposure.

If you or someone you know has a chronic illness and can’t seem to find any answers, it’s time to look into assessing your physical environment.
