My Journey Into Feng Shui Begins

My Journey Into
Feng Shui Begins

I began my Feng Shui journey in my early 20s during a period of deep self-exploration.

After a cross-country move, something started to feel off. Things weren’t quite right in my new home. Changes at work were leading to frustration and stress, and communication with my husband became argumentative. It all seemed to happen at once.

As the situation intensified and started to feel overwhelming, I remembered that Feng Shui was said to help with things exactly like this.

I decided to get help.

I called a Feng Shui professional to come to my house. I started implementing the recommended suggestions, committed to making changes, and began to pay closer attention to my life. As I became a more active participant in the process, positive changes – so many more than I ever considered possible – started happening for me and my husband, too.

My life was transformed.

Master of Feng Shui

My first formal Feng Shui certification was in 2009 with a Gold level school listed in the International Feng Shui Guild. The Guild standards require demonstration of knowledge and expertise in a wide variety of foundational concepts such as the Five Elements, Feng Shui forms, I Ching, BaZi and Feng Shui remedies. I completed their evaluation and received the Red Ribbon certification in 2010. Joining the International Feng Shui Guild gave me the confidence to work as a Feng Shu professional.

Since one cannot really understand many of these advanced topics in a weekend or short online course, I spent the next 15+ years diving deeper. Within that time period, I spent 1.5 years in classical Feng Shui mentoring, which gave me the title of Master of Feng Shui.

Have you ever heard that phrase, “a jack of all trades but a master of none”? Maybe you didn’t know that there is an additional component to the proverb that is often forgotten. The full proverb is, “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”

That’s important because someone who has a variety of tools can be more useful in various situations due to their diverse skillset.

I also study BaZi, Qi Men Dun Jia, Yijing, and Xuan Kong Da Gua to enhance my skills, help identify client needs and provide a more customized client experience.

I will keep learning, I will keep evolving, I will keep growing. I will keep refining my practice so that clients have great results that they can feel good about.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Master of Science in Higher Educational Strategic Enrollment Management. I spent two decades working in higher education in college admissions. Working with people who wanted to go to college and earn their degree showed me the emotional arc of having a dream and what it takes to focus, commit, and hold-steadfast to what one wants.

Although clients today aren’t going to college, they know that there is something they want and that something has to change in order to get there. That’s where I come in, to help bring some clarity and options on how to move forward.

My Journey Continues - Helping Clients Worldwide

As all new people in Feng Shui, I started with my own home, then friends and family. My first clients came from word-of-mouth. Although I was working my ‘day job’, I began to develop confidence to ‘hang a shingle’ to offer services to the public.

After earning my Master designation, my business began to grow. I helped hundreds of people either with Feng Shui or BaZi or some combination of both. I also learned how to help people in-person and remotely, which meant that during the pandemic, I already had the structure in place to keep my doors open and my business grew.

Since then, my business has become internationally known. Colleagues inquire about mentoring, people contact me for speaking on podcasts, and have asked me to share about Feng Shui in workshops. I have been blessed to travel to Asia, Europe, and Mexico to work with clients, connect with colleagues, and continue to deepen my appreciation for the fact that Feng Shui is everywhere.

The truth is that, even today, most of my clients come from word-of-mouth. I believe that if you find me, that there is a reason.

A Bit More About Me

I live in Phoenix, AZ with my husband of over 20 years and our two kitties, Scotty and Astie. The orange one is Scotty, the grey one is Astie.

I’m at the period of my life when my parent(s) are aging, and we are watching kids go off to college, so I am navigating life cycle events in real-time – just like you!

When I get to travel, I love exploring local culture, especially by sampling the food – eating like a local whenever I can and trying out my skills with a new language. These simple joys keep me curious and grounded, which I bring into my work with clients.
